Have you heard of “visual workplace” and wondered how this can facilitate opportunities to improve your processes? The term “5S” come from 5 Japanese actions, and applied systematically and thoroughly can transform your workplace. Avel – a Lean practitioner from the Edmonton community of practice – will be offering his insight into this engaging topic. 5S is a methodology for organizing your workplace and is considered one of the first steps towards setting up a continuous improvement culture. Includes a demo where we simulate a 5S event.
Avel Espiritu is the founder of Red-5, where he provides Lean coaching and consulting. His diverse background includes 14 years practicing Lean in the manufacturing, construction and engineering industries where he led improvement projects resulting in increased productivity, revenue, and employee engagement. He is an ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and an active member in the Edmonton Community of Practice for the Lean Construction Institute-Canada where he volunteers his time facilitating Lean Coffee sessions.
